Frequently asked Questions:
What is The Big Giveaway?
The Big Giveaway is just that. You want art, you can get it. The concept is simple: if you like one or more of my existing artworks enough to want in your home or office, or to give it as a gift, you can have it. It's easy.
Is the artwork really free?
The artwork is free to you. If it needs to be shipped to you, that is a cost, but we'll work it out and agree in advance.
How does it work?
First steps are straightforward. You see an artwork here that you want. You contact me, identify which artwork you like and share your information. If I don't already know you, I'll verify your identity and address.
What if someone else wants what I want?
Artworks will be distributed on a first-interest, first-offer basis. In the case that more than one person expresses interest in the same artwork within seven days, a person making a cash offer will receive preferred status.
Are the works framed?
Note that the artworks are delivered "as is" -- that means unframed works would be delivered unframed and in whatever condition they exist today. Most of the individual artworks are in excellent condition; a few artworks have had repairs over time.
Is everything I see on your website up for grabs?
Also be aware that some artworks in the digital catalog are already in various private collections (and therefore not available in The Big Giveaway). A number of installations and other artworks depicted in the catalog have been destroyed. If you like something that is unavailable, I can recommend similar artworks that are available.
How do I get the artwork?
Now it's time to work out pickup or delivery. If you live in or can travel to New York City, you can pick up the artwork from my secure storage facility in Manhattan. If you live outside New York City, the artwork can be packed and shipped to you at your cost, as agreed. I can get you a quote for an estimate of packing and shipping cost, which must be paid in advance.
Can a gallery participate in The Big Giveaway?
This project is intended primarily for private individuals, but I will be happy to receive inquiries from galleries, museums or other institutions or entities about single or multiple artworks, such a selection or portfolio of artworks from a series.
