Drawings on paper Variable dimensions To learn more about The Big Giveaway of these works, click here. These works build on the biomorphic quality of the rubber band "shot works." They primarily consist of drawings that began as rubbings of the rubber band squiggles. Flattened and inscribed as a charcoal rubbing, a new set of connotations emerged: amoebas swimming or captured. They remind me of the images contained in glass slides of microscopic life. I also combined the techniques of the splatter drawing made at about the same time, using wax with the rubber bands on paper. |
